1. What Is Faith? (Hebrews 11:1):Read Hebrews 11:1 (KJV): "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."In this verse, the Bible gives us a beautiful definition of faith. It says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Let's break this down to understand it better."Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,"Imagine you have a special birthday coming up, and you really hope to get a fantastic gift. Even though you haven't seen the gift yet, you have faith that it's going to be great. So, faith is like the strong belief you have that your birthday gift will be wonderful. It's the "substance," or the confidence, you have in something you're hoping for."the evidence of things not seen."Think about the sun. At night, you can't see the sun at all. But you know it's still there, and you believe it will rise again in the morning. That belief, even when you can't see it, is like faith.
